Buff-bellied Pipit - Farmoor, 2007 - sub-species (1 Viewer)

Given the split of American and Japanese Pipit, can anyone confirm the sub-specific ID of the Buff-bellied Pipit at Farmoor Reservoir (Oxon) in 2007?

If I recall correctly, it was I'D to American rubescens (I didn't see it).
I don't think there's been an accepted japonicus here. There's been a returning bird in Holland the last couple of winters I think.
