Bushnell problem (1 Viewer)

Hi all,
I am having a clear out of binoculars, one pair, Bushnell Excursion 10 x 32, are currently “windowsill” binoculars, they have a fault in that one of the quick-release neckstrap fittings is broken.
I have been trying, without much luck, to obtain a replacement part.
I have a number of options,
1. Sell as they are to someone who is not bothered about a neckstrap.
2. Repair by fitting the short neckstrap adapter and filling the socket with epoxy putty, but this would make the short adapter a permanent fitting.
3. Repair by fitting simple metal hoops on both sides, losing the quick release function.
any of these repairs would be simple jobs, probably less than an hour’s work and would be simple and tidy.
The binos are a decent, entry-level model with a used value of £50-75 with case, straps, etc. so not worth spending money on.
All input welcome.

Most binos feature simple strap attachment lugs ('loops') rather than 'quick-release' features so I favour your option number 3 to bring them in-line with the majority of binos on the market. Just make sure the loops are big enough to accept full-width neck straps so that future buyers (if you ever sell them) have a choice of straps they can fit from the narrowest all the way up to full size.

I don't know if you still have the original case for these, but when new they came with the strap and QR fittings attached, and they had a little plastic bag that had 2 extra of the QR fittings. These were in the mesh accessory top section of the case along with the strap.

Thanks for that info, I do have the case, but no spares.👍
