California birds on your life list (1 Viewer)

Avian-Avalanche!

Ask me about scrub jays! Get a chair first though.
United States
What are some California birds on your life list? I have a ton, considering I live here, but want to hear yours! I think goals should count too, for example, one of my lifer goals is the Island scrub jay!

I lived in California (San Diego to be specific) for three years, when I first really started getting into birding. I've also visited places like Monterey Bay, Salton Sea, Channel Islands, Los Angeles area, and San Francisco. So my California list is my biggest, and currently sits at 376 species, best birds being Blue-footed Booby, Tundra Bean-Goose, and Red-necked Stint

Wow!! That's even more than mine! That's awesome. I see you got a lot of shore birds and some plovers too. AND you saw the California Condor? That's really cool. I bet it was a great trip!!

Yes, a great trip - 17 days (2,911 miles mostly California plus a bit of Nevada and a brief diversion into Arizona) & a bird list of 167 species (89 lifers) - I think the Condor was the bird highlight and Yosemite for scenery.

That's great! Yosemite seems cool, I haven't been, only the Sierra Nevadas and Muir woods for now...
