Can anyone help me identify this call? Georgia, USA (1 Viewer)

I'm not really a birdwatcher or anything but I thought this would be an easy thing to look up. It's not, and now it's driving me crazy.

This is a call that I hear sometimes, maybe only at certain times of year, so maybe something migratory. It doesn't seem to match anything that I can find on the few websites that list bird calls (

https://www.allaboutbirds.org/news/how-to-learn-bird-songs-and-calls/
https://nationalzoo.si.edu/scbi/migratorybirds/education/nasongkey.pl?glance=
),
but they don't list any waterfowl, so I'm thinking it may be a waterfowl. It's a deep (for a bird), slow, four note call, with one ascending opening note, then three identical descending notes. I've made a recording of myself imitating it:

Hi Sebastian and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I've moved your post to the ID forum - someone will soon be along to help you out I'm sure.

Meantime I hope you will enjoy your time here with us and I look forward to hearing your news.

I'm terrible at calls, but check out whichever owl species are local to you. I'm also getting a pigeony feel, so try a few of the local doves. Last guess, something in the whipporwill group.

Is it heard at a particular time of day? Particular habitat? Loon would only be in a lake, for example.

In future, please give your location in the thread title (seems to be Georgia, USA).

The best source for birdsong recordings organized by species is https://www.xeno-canto.org

My fault Nartreb.... I moved it from another forum and forgot to amend the title.
