I visited Black Park Nature reserve in Iver yesterday and was amazed by the abundance of caterpillars , mainly hanging on threads ,from the canopy above .I found 8 species in just an hour ,four of which were on one bush ,plus one Sawfly larva .I couldn’t tell what the plant was as it was just a skeleton. So far I have identified —Satellite ,Spring Usher , Mottled Umber , Pale Brindled Beauty , Small Quaker , Winter moth and Twin spotted Quaker . the other maybe Speckled Yellow . I will add pics later.
