Chukar in Burnaby? (1 Viewer)

Is this forum still alive?

I've twice seen in south Burnaby recently (Boundary Road/Rumble area) some sort of probable ground bird. My pictures are poor quality, but both sightings were on roadways, with the bird walking/running, even when pursued in an effort to get a picture. My best guess is a Chukar, an introduced species. I've been birding in the lower mainland for ~35 years and have never seen one of these.

Indeed, it is a Chukar or one of the related and similar looking Old World partridges. It will have been released/escaped, they are kept in captivity with some regularity.
