Corvid in the mountains of Tajikistan (1 Viewer)

This is the only photo we have of this bird...there's been some discussion about whether it's a Common Raven or a Carrion Crow. Either is possible, although Carrion Crow is more common in the area. Interested in hearing other opinions with the reasoning behind them. Thanks!

Have to admit that it is hard to imagine an angle more difficult to tell which of the two species it is.
However I would go for Crow.
  • Relatively short and broad wings without the long hand expected of Raven
  • Outer rectrices seem long, and even with the rest of the tail, so no 'diamond' shape apparent
  • Bill looks heavy but not 'massive'
