David Snow RIP (1 Viewer)

I've just read a Times obituary (Sat 28th Feb) to David (D W) Snow, who passed away on Feb 4th, aged 84. He was a student of the brilliant David Lack at the Edward Grey Institute for Ornithology at Oxford, and is best known to me for his 1958 book, "A Study of Blackbirds", the dust jacket of which features one of Robert Gillmor's first pieces of artwork. You can get this wonderful book on abebooks.co.uk incidentally. D W Snow is one of the last of the old school of 20th century ornithology. The obituary is as usual in The Times not credited, but I would guess that the author is either Ian Newton or Chris Perrins.
