They probably do and I've just not seen/ heard of it before. I have a bush with a very heavy crop of berries each year that the thrushes feast on but this is the first year I've spotted a pigeon/s consuming them.
It's usually just Thrushes on our Cotoneasters.
We have a tree over the back fence, a Whitebeam I think, and the berries on that are eaten by Woodpigeons as well as Thrushes.
I suspect the twigs of our cotoneasters won't take the Woodpigeon's weight.
Yes, they seem to love the Cotoneasterfrigidus shrubs/trees/bushes, call em what u will.
Last Spring, a group of C.frigidus in S. Manchester kept their berries, and several Waxwings stuck around until well into April. Luckily there was enough for them, and the Woodies, and Blackbirds. 🙂👍🎄
