Emberiza capensis plowesi Vincent, 1950 OD here
Collected by D. C. H. Plowes (as a compliment to whom this race is named) at the Matopos Research Station, near Bulawayo Southern Rhodesia at circa 4,6000 feet, 2 April, 1949.

Another one I just add as The Eponym Dictionary of Birds shows not aacual information:
Plowes Cape Bunting ssp. Emberiza capensis plowesi J. Vincent, 1950
Darrel Charles Herbert Plowes (b.1925) is a citizen of Zimbabwe with over 50 years of field experience in southern Africa. He was an agricultural directorand is now retired and lives in Mutare, Zimbabwe, but he remains active in photography of the natural world and is still collecting plants. A reptile is named after him.

The Key to Scientific Names
Darrel Charles Herbert Plowes (1925-2016) South African agronomist, botanist, agricultural researcher, naturalist (subsp. Emberiza capensis).

Yes he died 19 October 2016 according Wikipedia. And there seems several plants named after him. e.g. Typhlosaurus plowesii, Bathyergus janetta plowesii, Aloeides plowesii, Dierama plowesii, Aloe plowesii and Huernia plowesii. The reptile is Typhlosaurus plowesi FITZSIMONS 1943.

So take it for what's worth.
