Frigatebirds on the Galapagos (1 Viewer)

Hello,

i photographed some Frigatebirds on the Galapagos Islands, there should be 2 species; the Magnificent and the Great Frigatebird. Who can tell me the difference between those 2. I will put some photos with this post.

As all the birds in the photos are just showing the upperparts of males I'm afraid you are going to have to log them as Frigatebird ? sp. Eye ring colour may have helped but the resolution isn't quite good enough. The basic metalic colour of the upperparts varies between oily green and blue, depending on the angle. For certain ID you need to see the underwing on frigatebirds, although pairs on the nest are reasonably straightforward.
