FRP forehead rest wandering position. (1 Viewer)

As Theri told you, once you place the position you want it should NOT move, neither backwards not forward either. The only way would be by turning the adjustable wheel. In mine at least is what happens.

What was happening was the forehead rest kept moving. I’d set it, use it and then, when taking it away from my forehead, it would extend the rest. Or the rest would retract when raising the bins. I ended up having my rh finger on the focuser and lh finger on the rest adjuster!
I have received a replacement but haven’t used it in anger. However, when comparing the two side by side there is not a heap of difference in indent feel, maybe a touch more in the replacement but that may be all it needs. Personally I would like a bit more of a click in each position. I will use something to fix the position if necessary. Not the best design in my opinion but great when it works.

I have to say - the headrest, although a great concept (wish Kunming could do something retrofittable to other binoculars, since no one else seems interested!), did not seem to me to be made up to the standard of the rest of Swarovski's product line on both Birdfairs I've tried it. That said, there don't seem to have been a large number of complaints. Hopefully the OP's replacement will work as it's supposed to.

Sorry to hear about the cited FR problem. As a counterpoint, FWIW, I've had no issues whatsoever with my FR and none of the 6 FR owners in my bird club have had any issues whatsoever.

I don't know. I took them out of the backpack and saw that the FRP was broken (I don't remember any hits to the backpack, maybe sometimes the binoculars got caught on some clothing when I took them out, so I pulled with a little more force, but nothing serious, as far as I can judge). Having been unable to find a valid reason for the breakage, other than the fragility of the FRP, I don't think I will buy a new piece, I don't want to have to buy a third...
