Glacier View Alaska, need help (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I saw these birds off a trail close to the lodge we stayed at in Glacier View Alaska on Aug 4-5th 2024.
I guessing Sparrows, my Merlin app came up with White-crowned Sparrows and Golden-crowned Sparrows?
But, these remind me of Chipping Sparrows I see in the summer months in Maryland.
Any help and replies are appreciated, thanks Eileen

Chipping Sparrow is a rare bird in that part of Alaska.

The bird in question is likely a juvenile/immature White-crowned Sparrow, which is easily one of the most common birds you can get in that part of the state.

Thank you, the juvenile White-crowned Sparrow makes more sense.
