Guess another bird... (1 Viewer)

Mountain Chickadee
Hello again,

Here's another one, taken in my yard on June 24, 2003. I have another picture if more help is needed (doubtful).

I hope you all are enjoying the mysteries!

Good luck! :t:

Well I fully expect to need more help with this one!

However, I'll go for Mountain Bluebird initially.

I'm tempted to agree with Spud but hey - where's the fun in that. We may be in Washington State but I'm saying 'Eastern Kingbird'.

Here's the other picture - some of you might need it. o:D

I understand that the picture quality is not very good, and that's why I thought it might be a challange.

Keep guessing!
Michael

Did I say 'Eastern Kingbird'? I've not much of a clue really but I'm fairly sure it's a flycatcher. Could it be Western Wood Peewee?

Based on the assumption that you wouldn't dream of asking us to identify an empid on such views I'd have to say Western Wood-pewee

Spud

What happened to the Mountain Bluebird,Spud!

I think he is quite capable,on recent evidence,of asking us to identify an 'empid' and so I will boldly go for Least Flycatcher.

(split infinitive an'all)

The Mountain Bluebird was an utterly shameful error of judgement Grousemore....it wont happen again....unless Michael W offers another mystery.

WA's first record of Asian Brown Flycatcher . . . . ? :king:

No, I'll go for Hammond's too.

Went for Hammond's mainly because that is the only one given by Sibley as preferring tall conifer forest for a habitat, and this bird's in Ponderosa Pines.

Michael

Good job everyone! The correct answer is Western Wood-Pewee. I wouldn't make you identify an Empidonax flycatcher, although I realize why some of you might think that I would o:D . I understand that that would be almost impossible (unless I included voice :king: )
