Hi all,
I saw this gull this morning whilst out jogging, so only managed some poor quality iPhone photos.
my first impression was that it could be a Common Gull, as it was less bulky, with slender wings, light grey upperwings and the typical dove like head with a relatively slender bill.
Looking at the photos I am now thinking that the size and dimensions could have been deceptive as it was by itself about 75m away, and it flew off after 30 seconds. I am now leaning towards a YLG with a relatively small bill, which is far more likely here (YLG are abundant, Common Gull relatively rare).
Any help greatly appreciated!
