Gull in Scotland (1 Viewer)

I took this picture on 4 August 2024 at Arbroath.

It was in amongst a whole load of other gulls, mostly young Herring Gulls I think. At the time I just would have presumed it was an Adult Herring Gull, but now I look more closely at the picture, it seems to have a much finer bill with no red spot. The legs seem to be pinkish. Can't think of anything to fit.

It's a very heavy crop, if you want a larger image with other birds in I can do that.

Hey Delia,

The bird gives me the impression of a Herring gull. The bill may appear to be fine / not have a spot because the gull is looking face-on

...which is not needed here - a large gull with pale grey mantle, black primary tips and pink legs is a Herring Gull.
