I posted earlier about a possible Caspian Gull at Beddington Farmlands today, but I've just got the photos off my camera so hopefully it might be a bit better now! I was also wondering what species is in the final photo?

Thanks for any help!IMG_7837 (2).JPGIMG_7833 (2).JPGIMG_7813 (2).JPG

Hello,
I think first is a 2 cy Herring Gull by
  • pattern of upperparts
  • washed, vermiculated (yes, still barred) greater coverts
  • much white in tertial tip
I see, how you detected a small headed gull with a thinner than normal bill, but I think its still within variation for a pure Herring Gull.

Second bird is a hard + Gull to me, where I better learn. Thank you!
