Hello all, firstly I don't know much about birds at all and am looking for some answers to something that has been puzzling me for weeks.

I live in Inner West Sydney, and before I go into more detail and start posting really bad pictures etc, my initial question is has anyone ever seen a Magpie feeding a different species of bird.

I have been observing a Magpie feeding a bird, that to me looks like a bird of prey.. Yep crazy I know, but then again maybe not. As I said I don't know much.

regards

Pablo

Hi Pablo and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators. How strange.

Please do post your pictures, you'd be surprised how clever some of our people can be. You'd be best to put them on the ID forum, and remember to tell them the place and date you took the pictures.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hey Pablo,

I am also very curious about the pictures! Please do share them!

Cheers,

Fabian
will do , give a few mins to select them, BTW they are not very good, also hoping that someone can identify the bird from the "swarking" ( thats probably not a word LOL )

Impressive catch and thanks for introducing me to the nightmare bird!
Hi Andrew, Yep I think that is what it is. The video of the juvenile birds in the link you sent looks just like it, although I can never get close enough to have a really good look. I have no idea what it is doing in Inner west Sydney, but I just hope it grows up quickly and starts to fend for itself.
Thanks
