Hi everyone!

I love birds and I absolutely love this forum. I read it many times in the past and I finally decided to join. I'm still a very casual bird enthusiast, I don't even have a lifetime list of species I observed (it probably wouldn't be very impressive) but I learn something new about them every day and I am willing to try bird photography in the near future. I love spending time outdoors and see wildlife but even my garden is the only one in the neighbourhood that has plenty of trees and shrubs so it attracts an abundance of common birds all year round. I recently decided to go a step further and I am planning to invest in a nice lens for my camera to take photos of birds I see during my trips anyway.

I have never seen a crossbill... Apparently there are 3 species that can be found in Scotland so observing one is my first goal for 2024.

I can see many passionate, knowledgeable and helpful people here which is very encouraging. I hope to get to know you and learn from you, guys!

Hi Falco Cherrug and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

All things Scottish can be found here. Also, keep an eye on threads titled something like Scottish Bashes; we try to meet up occasionally and they're always great fun. You'd be most welcome to join us on another if you can manage.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi Falco and a warm welcome to you from the other side of the pond :) Fingers crossed for you for seeing a Crossbill ;)
