Help ID Japanese snake, please. (1 Viewer)

I took these shots of an approximately 6 foot (96 cm) long snake in a park in the city of Tondabayashi, Honshu Island, Japan, on 07-31-04. Two of the three photos I see at this Google site look similar to my snake:

Can you please help me ID the snake? Here come the photos. Thanks for any help.

Hi Marysan, I am not sure, but it looks like something in the genus Elaphe, and therefore I think you probably have hit it with Japanese Ratsnake.

Going by the photos, distribution and length, I think it's a Japanese Ratsnake, too.
