ID help needed for Warblers from the Western-Himalayas. (1 Viewer)

Looking forward to having a better look at these later and to see how the discussion goes. For now I'd say photo 2 shows a Pale-footed Bush Warbler.

Ok..I am gonna be brave and probably way off the mark...but here are my guesses

1) Palla's
2) Greenish..unless that is a central crown stripe I can see, in wich case it is Western Crowned!
3) and 4) Smoky or Raddes'..don't really have a clue (or very dark Arctic)
5) Western Crowned
6) Greenish
7) Arctic

As I said only guesses and more educated and well reserched opinions will I am sure come along soon.

Here is a list of warblers one would expect to see in the area [as per Grimskipp]:

[common resident]
Phylloscopus chloronotus/Lemon-rumped Warbler

[locally common summer]
Phylloscopus affinis/Tickell's Leaf Warbler
Phylloscopus humei Hume's/Warbler
Phylloscopus trochiloides/Greenish Warbler
Phylloscopus magnirostris/Large-billed Leaf Warbler
Phylloscopus occipitalis/Western Crowned Warbler

[not common resident]
Phylloscopus pulcher/Buff-barred Warbler
Phylloscopus maculipennis/Ashy-throated Warbler
Phylloscopus reguloides/Blyth's Leaf Warbler

[not common summer]
Phylloscopus sindianus/Mountain Chiffchaff
Phylloscopus neglectus/Plain Leaf Warbler
Phylloscopus griseolus/Sulphur-bellied Warbler
Phylloscopus tytleri/Tytler's Leaf Warbler

[not common passage migrant]
Phylloscopus collybita/Common Chiffchaff

[vagrant]
Phylloscopus fuscatus/Dusky Warbler
Phylloscopus subviridis/Brooks's Leaf Warbler

Just noticed this thread so - mainly to bump it up & call in the experts:
1) Lemon-rumped
2) Pale-footed bush?
3) ?
4) ?
5) Western-crowned
6) Tytler's ?

89 is the stuff of nightmares for me, but at least in Kashmir there are fewer options than in China - It looks a bit bright for Hume's so I'll go for Lemon-rumped too

90 Kashmir is way outside my parish, but I can safely say that pic 2 is a Phyllosc, not a Pale-footed Bush warbler, but is likely either Blyths Leaf Warbler or Western Crowned (which I've never seen). To put it another way: show me the Pale-footed Bush Warbler with crown stripe and I'll show you the man hiding round the corner with a very fine paint brush. Also PFBW is a predominantly brown bird and a major skulker

91 has a rather weak bill and pale base to the lower mandible - I'll go for Tytler's (with the caveat that I've never seen it)

92 has an amazingly strong head pattern and I'll go for Western Crowned on the basis that it looks like no Blyth's Leaf I've ever seen (but NB there is a Kashmirensis Blyth's so it could be one)

93 has the same combination of features as 91 and I'll go for Tytler's again.

94 Easy - Green-backed Tit! the bird behind I can't make work for anything! nearest is greenish with a lost wingbar

Not sure this helps, but its bee fun.

Cheers
Mike

There are n't too many possibilities for these and I don't think the images involve quite as many species as one would first think.

89 The combination of strong lateral crown stipes, bright wing panel, double wing bar and pale edged tertials puts this in the Lemon-rumped Warbler area.

90 Did I say PFBW!? Good grief. Indistinct, or should I say "mild" median crown stripe points to Western-crowned Warbler.

91 I caught a glimpse of this bird a few years back during winter in the Western Ghats. Was completely stumped but put it down to a probable Tytler's - and the same applies here.

92 Same combo as 89, therefore same species as 89. Lemon-rumped.

93 Is this not the same bird as 91a & 91b? Same species, I would hazard, Tytler's.

94 Struggling with this one. Greenish would be the safe bet though the leg colour looks a bit iffy.

Maybe I should also venture a guess or two of my own based on the ID tips in this thread, and frequency of earlier observations:

89 : Lemon-rumped Warbler
90 : Western-crowned Warbler
91 : Tytler's Leaf Warbler [Thx, MKinHK]
92 : Western-crowned Warbler
93 : Tytler's? [Didnt seem as olive-greyish as 91 in the field, plus the eye stripe and area under the eyes was much whiter in 91. But the long, thin bill would support Tytler's]
94 : ?

I wasn't familiar with Tytler's..so I can see how that is true of 93, now I have looked at some shots. Looks like a very small Greenish without wing bar8s) or wide super.

However, I can't really see it for 91 A and B, it just looks too brown, but can't really offer any other intelligent suggestion.

Also didn't know about status of Palla's in Himalayas, so obviously 89 is Lemon-rumped.

Glad I got the two Western Crowned right. Still think 94 looks good for Arctic....but I guess it can't be if the list is to be believed.

The following is a shot of Arctic which looks not dissimilar to 94:
