Insect ID, south-eastern Austria (1 Viewer)

While walking the hound yesterday, this strange, ca. 2"/5cm long insect crossed our path. When it reached the verge on the other side of the road it apparently proceeded to dig itself into the ground. Anyone have any idea what it may be?

its a European Mole Cricket Gryllotalpa gryllotalpa imo (with the usual caveats, but I think its indeed one)
