I have a starling question. They are new birds to me, but I saw many in the spring. I'm assuming the common starling, sitting on tree branches making circling motions with their wings. What does that mean? It was silly, yet fun to watch. :)

Thanks!

In young birds it is a common begging characteristic of quite a few of the species here in North America. They are trying to get their parents attention so that the adult birds will feed them.

Just 3, all introduced. Soon to change with a few trips to the Old World this year!

Common Starling
Common Myna
Hill Myna
