My friend Mira, who used to live on the edge of a wildlife reserve near Byron Bay, often had bird visitors. One was a kookaburra. It would land on the wooden tabletop on the back porch. My friend would gently rub the kooaburra's tummy, and then feed it with some fine meaty bits. Oh, by the way, she loved the collage.
