Hello,

These photos were taken last week in semi-desert near Tehran (35.050648284921415, 51.61809495011944). There were large flocks of Lesser Short-toed Larks there, but I am not sure about this one, specially because of the dark patch on breast-side. is it possible to tell if it is Lesser or Greater Short-toed Lark?

Thank you in advance.

I’m thinking it looks more Short-toed than Lesser, lack of streaking and bill shape appear to favour the former?

Cheers

Should be "Lesser" with that stubby yellowish bill, breast streaking, and indistinct head patterning. 1st pic also seems to show a primary projection. I suppose this would be the newly split Turkestan Short-toed Lark.
