A lifelong Naturalist...
This larvae was seen this week on mature grasslands (South East Wales) it's approximately 35mm long, apologies for not getting a dorsal view image to help with any possible ID.

Appreciate any feedback or suggestions please.

I know this is probably a tough one, otherwise I would have identified it myself |;| but I know there's a lot of good 'moth-ers' lurking on here...anyone?

Hi Bill

You're right this is a tough one! The nearest I can come up with is the larvae of The Grayling, it looks close in some respects but not 100%. Best I can do!

Thanks for reply Shane, not Grayling. Very probably Moth larva, these biege coloured caterpillars are almost as difficult as the green ones |:S| I hate not finalising an ID !!!

Hi Bill

All I can suggest is that you contact one of the Butterfly & Moth Recorders in South Wales and see what they think. Let us know if you manage to get an id?
