What was your last bird seen this year?
Mine was a lesser redpoll feeding on a seed feeder in the garden at dusk.

White-crowned Sparrows... moments after two Red-tailed Hawks in tree bordering a field with a Kestrel hovering while a Northern Harrier flew by !

Thought this would be a challenge - been in all day decorating the lounge with lots of dust (sanding/grinding too) and heavy rain outside much of the day. Think I recall mixed flock of corvids out the window (including Jackdaws on size) around roost time, possibly only birds today, apart from a cheeky Wren just outside the kitchen window earlier in the day.

Dunno about seen - I heard a Coot on passage over the house when I woke at 2030 from getting a couple of hours sleep in early so I can stay up for New Year and still get enough shut-eye to fuel an early start.

European Shag, flying into a stiff wind and heavy rain early this afternoon, shortly before my "I hate this and I want to go home" moment.

Last of 22 & first of 23, Laughing Dove roosting in a tree outside the flat. Watched it settle in and just had a peek and it’s still there. Unless it’s swapped places with a Collared Dove.

Yesterday between 9 and 10 pm, the street lights were bright enough beside the river that I saw avocets and black-winged stilts moving about. (Hong Kong)

I wonder if waders are able to feed in moonlight.
