Hello
People are wondering about choosing a light, solid, short tripod for traveling and trips.
In my opinion, Leofoto Ranger leveling series is a very good choice.
Four sizes to choose from.
For me - I'm short (164 cm, 5 foot 5 inch) - this will be the perfect solution.
Four sizes to choose from.
The folded length, depending on the variant, is from 44.9cm/17.68 to 51.5cm/20.28in.
Number of segments 5 (therefore short).
No central column = compact, solid structure.
Self-leveling head (this is a benefit) - diameter 50mm/1.97in.
Weight from 0.88kg/1.94lb to 1.95kg/4.30lb - light.
Height when unfolded from 140.0cm/55.12in to 155.5cm/61.22in.
Maximum pipe diameter from 22mm/0.87in to 36mm/1.42in.
Carbon fiber - ten layers, case, spikes for screwing into the legs.
My choice for a 15-45/60x spotting scope is the LS285CEX:
tube 28mm/1.1in, height 146.8cm/57.80in,
folded 47.6cm/1874in, weight 1.35kg/2.98lb.
I have an angled scope, so the fifth (narrowest) segment (the tube) will not extend all the way.
Stability should be maintained.
What do you think?
Will the 20-60/~85x telescope also work on such a tripod?

Should be good between the 2 and 3 series Rangers. Many are using this brand in my place especially photographers with long lens after they sold their heavy Gitzo tripod. One best thing about the Ranger is the tilt half bowl, means you don't have to adjust the legs if you need to make it shorter temporary for viewing
