Just seen this lovely bird while walking the dog near the new estate in Darlington. There's an artificial long stretch of water there put in when the farmland was ploughed up for housing.

Just seen this lovely bird while walking the dog near the new estate in Darlington. There's an artificial long stretch of water there put in when the farmland was ploughed up for housing.

They seem to readily take to.these new patches of water that are created. Makes me wonder how quickly they.can contain prey items. There is a development near me with a c100m by 10m ditch that has already attracted Little Egret, Cormorants, Green Sandpipers and a hunting Hobby.

I have just seen a little egret while walking the dog , I've never ever seen one before was in a stream newton aycliffe nr burnlane underpass , only found out what type of bird it was when got back to my phone, although I could see it was heron like
