I'm newly retired and wanting to do more birding. I need an upgrade in my binoculars though. I'd like to keep the cost to around $500. Suggestions?

I'm really happy with the Nikon Monarch V (8 x 42), which I bought for $300. Bright, crisp image.

I love my Nikon Prostaff 3S 8x42. I just really got into it last year and these are the binoculars that were recommended to me.
