Merlin from East of France (1 Viewer)

Hello,
I took the pictures below In France, North East , 80 km south from Luxembourg in September of........... 2012 ! to tell the truth, at this time, I was interested in birds only if I could take them in picture Today I do not know all the species and their caracteristics , far from it, but in 2012 , my knowledge was much worse.
This week I took a few time to watch some old pictures and saw these one ; of a Common Kestrel . Today I have the feeling it is female of Merlin ; but I m not 100% sur and I would appreciate a confirmation.
