Most stupid species? (1 Viewer)

Don't know if anyone has asked this before but what do you think the most stupid bird species is?

At the moment i'd have to say Wood Pigeon (aka the kamikaze bird). The last few weeks i have been targeted by this species which wants to kill itself at my hands. They just fly in front of me and i've had several near misses.

PS Please can anyone do Voodoo or something to stop them?

I remember friends who worked on Maritius telling me about Pink Pigeons having to be rescued from the sea after they decided to land on it...

Followed by partridges running down the road in front of my car...just bloody fly will you!!!!

Yeah, but at least the partgridges run away from the car. Pheasants seem to stand by the side of the road waiting for the last second before throwing themselves under your wheels.

No such thing, no Species would survive if it was stupid.

I don't think failure to understand Man's technology (Cars etc) equals stupidity, my Wife still struggles with the video recorder, but I wouldn't call her stupid.|=)|

I have often wondered why some species are so street wise, and yet others are so oblivious to cars.I once saw a Mallard commit suicide by walking under a cars wheels, the car was only doing about 5 mph.

I vote for every skulking rarity - if only they sat up on top of a bush everyone would have alook, take their photos and leave, saving them from being hounded up hill and down dale!

I doubt whether pheasants would survive long in the wild (in the UK) without the annual mass release of tens of thousands of 6 week old poults.

I like that one haha

at the same time tho, 'showy' birds often attract much bigger crowds and for longer periods...

Personally Pheasants take some beating!

I don't know much about Pheasants, but I would imagine they would adapt. Unless of course the UK is totally unsuitable for them, and if that's the case then being introduced into an unsuitable environment still doesn't make them stupid.

But, like I said, I know little about Pheasants.
