3. What is this based on? I don't see Ptilinopus arcanus listed in the trees in Oliver et al. ?
4. Possibly...may sink Oedicnemus in the next draft

Yes, I find it not-completely-convincing. 3 different papers by the same authors have 3 different arrangements for Burhinidae.

Dunno, that's why I incorporate morphology, biogeography and traditional taxonomy and retain Oedicnemus... for now at least

Another update. "Phase 1" is now complete, with all non-songbirds now covered. The next update will be one largely of revision, including adding undescribed taxa, incorporating some novel splits and lumps, a few changes to the formatting of the subspecies groups, improved annotation, and a overall double check of taxonomy. Once that is done I will start on the songbirds.

The type species of Palaeornis is Psittacula alexandri. Mascarinus is the valid name for the krameri clade.

Tauracoena lacks a capital T. The same for some Arborophila.

Metopiana has priority over Phoeoaythia

It seemed to me that dea formed a clade with two other species of Galbula (chalcothorax and leucogastra)
