My personal bird taxonomic checklist project (1 Viewer)

The most recent update of both lists, now covering birds of prey (specifically Strigiformes, Cathartiformes, and Accipitriformes) as well as the most recent IOC checklist. Nothing too radical here

Another update. "Phase 1" is now complete, with all non-songbirds now covered. The next update will be one largely of revision, including adding undescribed taxa, incorporating some novel splits and lumps, a few changes to the formatting of the subspecies groups, improved annotation, and a overall double check of taxonomy. Once that is done I will start on the songbirds.

Urogalba is mispelled "Urogalbula", but using Urogalba makes Galbula paraphyletic.

The type species of Palaeornis is Psittacula alexandri. Mascarinus is the valid name for the krameri clade.

Tauracoena lacks a capital T. The same for some Arborophila.

Metopiana has priority over Phoeoaythia

Ferreira et al 2018 finds Urogalba sister to a clade containing the remainder of Galbula

Hmm, the Richmond Index has Urogalba listed as a nomen nudum. What would the type species be, please?

Urogalba
(Galbulidae; syn. Galbula † Paradise Jacamar G. dea) Gr. ουρα oura tail; Mod. L. galba contraction from genus Galbula Brisson, 1760, jacamar; "Galbulinæ. ... 26. UROGALBA, Bp. - 107. paradisea, L. (longicauda, Br.)" (Bonaparte 1854); "Urogalba Bonaparte, 1854, Conspectus Volucrum Zygodactylorum, p. 13. Type, by monotypy, Alcedo paradisea Linnaeus, 1766 = Alcedo dea Linnaeus, 1758." (JAJ 2020).
Urogalba Bonaparte, Ateneo Italiano, II, 1854, P- 12 9 (Consp. Volucr. Zygod..1854, p. 13) (Type Alcedo paradisea Linnaeus).
That's all I have
