Hi, I have always loved watching birds as my indoor kitties do too. Lol!
I'm 71 & where I was growing up one bird I don't recall ever seeing was the giant pileated woodpecker. Although I may have seen one being quite young I don't recall if I ever had.
But where I now reside we have one that frequent our suet cakes at least twice a day. And numerous hummingbirds.
We have a variety of feeders so we see numerous different birds off & on all day. There's only one I personally haven't seen any cardinals. I miss them had a pair at my former residence. Of course we do have blue Jay's & so far they haven't created any issues with the other birds.

Only have had one squirrel so far.
I live in northern Michigan near lake Michigan & have been enjoying all our precious little visitors.

Welcome aboard Hoadley and I hope you enjoy your time with us :)

I've got many different birds including the Pileateds and enjoy them immensely. Please fill us in on all your visitors and their shenanigans :)

Hi Hoadley and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group.

What a positive & friendly group thank you for your welcome.
From what I understand Michigan has only one type of hummingbird. On the audobon site they describe the difference between the male & female.
But I've noticed there are different sizes. We are wondering if the tiniest ones are the babies? I love these birds they may be tiny but are very feisty.
