WE live in Ridgefield on some acreage. The past week or so we have had a visitor small hawk that has been trying to get into the house.
at first we thought it was just hitting the window cause it maybe seeing it's reflection.
STarting this morning, it now flys on the screen section of the window, trying to get in.
it seems to stick around, cause we have seen a dead mouse in the driveway one minute, and then it's gone. We also had scarlets, but since the hawks arrival, we haven't seen anymore.
we don't want to see the bird get injured or anything. We know it's wild, so we know not to try and feed it or trap it.

Perhaps it was captive for an injury or something and released and now it is trying to get back inside a house. You can call a wildlife rehabber or some bird helper and explain what it was doing. If you don't mind, please keep us updated.

Hi there and a warm welcome to you from those of us on staff here at BirdForum (y)

Hi Smcgravey and a warm welcome from me too.

Sorry, I don't seem to be able to make any sensible suggestions.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I hope to hear about all the birds you see when out and about.

Hi, welcome to the forum. I think you will find us a friendly and helpful group. I agree with KC, try and find a rehabber in your area to help.
