Bei Besichtigung des Eulen-Hauses nahm H. Reichenow Gelegenhit, an einen von Herrn Prof. Vosseler aus Amani in Usambara (Deutsch-Ostafrika) dem Garten geschickten Uhu die Taufe zu vollziehen. Er nannte die neue Art Bubo vosseleri und gab folgende Diagnose:
