Crax mikani Pelzeln 1870 OD [1868-1870] (1871) - Zur Ornithologie Brasiliens - Biodiversity Heritage Library
Prof. Johann Christian Mikan (1769-1844) Czech botanist, zoologist, collector in Brazil (syn. Crax alberti ♀, syn. Crax daubentoni ♂=♀).

From Bd. 3 (1888) - Annalen des K.K. Naturhistorischen Hofmuseums - Biodiversity Heritage Library I would go:
Crax mikani Pelzeln 1870 ♀ = Crax alberti Fraser, 1852
Crax mikani Pelzeln 1870 ♂ = Crax daubentoni, Gray, GR 1867

So no daubt it is Johann Christian Mikan – Wikipedia
He described:
  • Lanius undulatus Mikan, 1820 = Batara cinerea (Vieillot, 1819)
  • Oxyrhynchus serratus Mikan, 1823 = Oxyruncus cristatus Swainson, 1821
  • Tanagra chalybea Mikan, 1825 = Euphonia chalybea (Mikan, 1825)

And not birds:
  • Acanthochelys radiolata (Mikan, 1820)
  • Leontopithecus chrysopygus (Mikan, 1823)
  • Siphonops annulatus (Mikan, 1822)
  • Hydromedusa maximiliani (Mikan, 1825)
Other non bird dedications:
Feel free to add any additional information of value to the thread. Of course a couple of plants are described by him Mikan, Johann Christian | International Plant Names Index

One more bird: Hellmayr, in his Catalogue of the Americas (1934, part VII, p. 29), mentions:
Corvus tricolor Mikan, 1822

He enumerates it under "Uroleuca cristatella (Temminck). PEGA JAY." I think this is Cyanocorax cristatellus - curl-crested jay.

Corvus tricolor (not of P. L. S. Müller, 1776) Mikan, Del. Fl. Faun. Bras.,
Part 2, pl. 10, 1822— Mattodentro, Ypanema, and Rio Verde (São Paulo), and
"Curitiba," Paraná (type in Vienna Museum).
