Anybody know how soon after mating you could expect the female to lay and remain on her eggs ?
I can observe a nest from my deck (in Southern Ontario) with my Kowa scope.
The pair arrived within a day of each other on Saturday. They may have come together, I don't know.
Yesterday I saw them mating.................................when would you expect the eggs to be laid ?
Last year they produced 2 young ( see image) and the year before 3.
Over the winter I read that other birds will use the lower levels of an osprey nest as a nesting site and in fact I can see other smaller birds flying in and out..................I can't yet make out what.
Thanks for any insights.
