Ospreys - Loch Garten (1 Viewer)

Hi Folks,

Can I ask a favour from anyone living in the Loch Garten area or are Osprey watchers to keep an eye open for EJ please, she was back on site on the 29th March last year. The cameras on the feeders are excellent I have never seen as many Coal Tits at once and love the squirrels. I would hate to think they concentrate on those for longer and don't get the other one up and running in time for her arrival. I know I am a daft old bat but don't want to miss her arrival home, sorry don't know how else to put that.

Any volunteers to keep "madam" under lock and key until Henry gets back would be much appreciated. I have seen from Roy Dennis's site breeding success in general was not very good last year and I don't want Henry kicking eggs out again, just hope he makes the effort to get back sooner and has no mishaps this year.

Thanks.

Hi Folks,

Thank you, it is great news, I have been watching the feeder cam over Easter but it seemed off line Tuesday and I thought the weather may be bad up there. I hope they switch it to the nest now.

Thank you for telling me the blog is up and running I have changed computers (again) and lost a lot of my favourite sites of course that one was top of my list and it has gone, the PC isn't the same without it.

I hope Ben is feeling fit he has to get up there and keep "Madam" out of trouble until Henry gets back and if my diary is right he arrived on the 10 April last year and E J arrived on the 4 April.

As it happens, I am having tomorrow and Monday off work so you can guess which site I will be "hooked" up to and it would be great if Henry got home too.

Ben, please let it be a peaceful year and all we see and hear are Henry's young ones begging for food.

Morning Everybody,

It is very wet and wild here in Lancashire. I have just looked at the webcam and there is a blurred picture of the nest with snow in it and the RSPB logo top left corner so may just be a captured picture from previously but I will be watching.

Other birds are back in the UK and here's hoping more young make their first journeys back safely with everybody else.

Web cam is up and running with live images of the nest. One Osprey is on the nest at the moment giving it a bit of a spring clean.

I wonder how many hours of my life I am going to lose this year looking at live streaming webcams...????? Fabulous way to waste time though.

Thanks Ben,

Godmother sounds a lot better as I never had a family anyway and it will be an honour to be Godmother to my favourite Ospreys. :D

Thank you for the new link Beacon, I hope it is up and running Monday as I am having another day off then. I had to take my last 2 days holiday or lose them and for once I picked the right weekend, it would be fabulous if Henry made it back this weekend. :t:

Sandra,

I think the Logie site is wonderful being able to tell where Logie is and what she is doing, fishing, roosting etc.

I would love to follow Henry and E J of course and programme him to get back quicker.

The Rutland site is up and running and Lake Bassenthwaite have been updated and had a spring clean. Just Loch of Lowes to find and then I have got them all stored on the toolbar for one click access if that makes sense.

OOh! I didn't know EJ was back I know where I will be spending most of my time.
I just hope Henry is not long in turning up, we don't want EJ to be a naughty girl again.

Hi Christine,

You haven't missed much, I have been watching an empty nest most of the day. Like me E J doesn't seem to go in for spring cleaning I hope she is away looking for Henry.

I did see her this morning.

Hello all, I have been watching Logies autumn migration and currently her return journey with complete fascination, but I am a little worried that the site has not been updated since the 26th March. Logie was by then in northern Spain awaiting better weather conditions to cross the bay of Biscay. Can anyone tell me if their is a problem with the site or does anyone have more recent knowledge of Logies position?

There's just a brief note on the site homepage, saying Logie got to the Bay of Biscay and then turned back! It seems he's away for a few days but planned to update her whereabouts each evening, though that hasn't happened. Like you, I'm desperate to know where she is!

It really is a good job there aren't many tagged birds to follow - we'd be nervous wrecks waiting & watching for them. Yes, I'd like to know how far Logie's got. Perhaps no news is good news!
