Hello all.

For those who have helped me and others, I today have been out to LCE in Nottingham to try out some binoculars.

Compared 8x42 today as I upped my budget.

GPO passion ED 8x42

Zeiss Terra Ed 8x42

Zeiss Conquest HDX 8x42

Needless to say have compared those 3, I ended up with the Zeiss Hdx 8x42.

I don't think you'll get a better binocular for the price.
Even beat Tring Astronomy price so I paid £990.

Certainly an impressive view.
I know there larger than my previous Trinovid 8x32HD but it really knocks spots off the Leica to me, not just brightness but clarity.

Ill test tomorrow properly.

I believe you can get deeper eyecups FOC for these can anyone help with who to ask please?

Thanks again All.

One thing I will say trying them this evening in the dark looking at bright lights, I have a bright train station opposite the rear of house, it there are zero ghost images, internal reflections etc, the cleanest I've seen, the Trinovid pointed at the street light gave a ghost images of the light in the fov, these nothing! Impressed at that. Should be good for the moon and astro too.

You still didn't get the Nikon HG 8x42 like I told you too! The Zeiss Conquest HD 8x42 is a nice binocular although a little heavy at 28 oz. compared to the Nikon HG 8x42 at 24 oz. and they have an average FOV of 7.4 degrees about like the Leica Trinovid 8x32, but they are very bright and very sharp on-axis. Let us know if they give you eye strain.
I got the hdx not HD..can't find the HG Nikon to look through .. easy on the eyes up to now.

The HDX have longer eyecups than the outgoing HD's as standard, so you should be fine with the ones fitted to your new bins. Everyone I know who's tested the HDX's (myself included) has found them to be comfortable straight out of the box and not needed longer eyecups.

Congrats and enjoy!
