Resultat dieser Untersuchung war die Feststellung einer besonderen Form , welche ich zu Ehren des Herrn Dr. M. N. Bogdanow , des bekannten Monographen der russischen Würger -Otomela Bogdanoqi zu nennen vorschlage.

He was also mentioned here as author.

The Eponym Dictionary of Birds claims:
Common Pheasant ssp. Phasianus colchicus bogdanowi Buturlin, 1904 NCR [JS Phasianus colchicus principalis]
Black Francolin ssp. Francolinus francolinus bogdanovi Zarudny, 1906
Professor Modest Nikolaevich Bogdanov (1841–1888), a Russian zoologist and ornithologist, was supervisor of the ornithological collection at St Petersburg Museum (1879– 1885). He carried out a meticulous inventory, identifying all the species, and produced a monograph, Shrikes of Russian Fauna and Allies (1881). He also prepared the first issue of the Checklist of the Birds of the Russian Empire (1884). A mammal is named after him.
The Key to Scientific Names
Prof. Modest Nikolaevich Bogdanov (1841-1888) Russian zoologist (cf. Anatoliy Petrovich Bogdanov (1834-1896) Russian naturalist, co-founder and Director of Russian Imperial Society of Amateurs of Natural History) (subsp. Francolinus francolinus, Lanius collurio x Lanius isabellinus hybrid, syn. Phasianus colchicus principalis, syn. Pterocles alchata caudacutus).

There is not much doubt (at least from me) that it is the correct guy. I was just confused about the cf. Anatoliy Petrovich Bogdanov (1834-1896). Why is he mentioned if no bird is named after him?

As well did Anatoliy Petrovich Bogdanov describe any bird or all from Modest Nikolaevich Bogdanov?

Here we can find some more on Lanius collurio x Lanius isabellinus hybrid
Bogdanow described Lanius borealis sibiricus in 1881 in a Russian language Kaiserlich-Russische Akademie der Wissenschaften article. He also proposed L. (O.) karelini and romanowi in it. There is a confusion on the internets about this. L. bogdanowi is described by Bianchi.
