Pin-tailed Snipe? (1 Viewer)

I took this photo four days ago at Mileyha wetland-Hatay, same place which pin-tailed snipe photographed. There were other snipes around, including jack snipe and common snipe. This one was alone on the meadow apart from others. Can this be identified as pin-tailed snipe or not from this photo?

I can't.

To me the bill looks long, the eye is forward and the facial striping doesn't have the bulge I would expect in front of the eye if this was a strong candidate for Pin-tailed.

I cannot even see the features I would normally look for in this view

I’m thinking Common Snipe, bill looks long, patterning on the back looks quite contrasty and the barring on the chest isn’t deep enough for PTS.

Cheers

Average bill length difference between two species is only 7 percent..plumage variation in this species and streaking on the neck suspecting me. head length/bill length difference gives us more reliable result. But the difference is only circa 20 percent.
