Pink-Footed Goose in Massachusetts! (1 Viewer)

It's taken me a while to get to this but I was super excited Oct 11 2023 to see three Pink-Footed Geese hanging with a group of Canada Geese in Amherst Massachusetts. It was at the Umass Amherst campus pond.

Reading in All About Birds it notes that these birds do sometimes show up in eastern US and Canada and when that happens will often hang out with Canada Geese as these were.

Just thought I'd share.

Good for you, that's awesome. It pays to always check the large flocks of "boring" birds!!

Still hoping to see a Eurasian Jackdaw among the Crows here in eastern Mass.....it's happened before

Yes it's worth looking. Most recently what thought was just a leaf ended up being an American Woodcock. I nearly didn't focus my camera at it.

That's great, I've never had a daytime sighting of a Woodcock though I have seen them up close at dusk with barely enough light to see
