Plain-backed Pipit (1 Viewer)

I have just moved to a new area and have been exploring as much as possible. I am often amazed not only by the birds I get to see, but also by the species others have seen that I have yet to find in the area. One of those species is the African Pipit. They’re usually pretty easy to find in the right habitat in this area, but I really struggled to locate them—even in ideal conditions.

Last Sunday, that changed, and my persistence was rewarded. Not only did I find an African Pipit, but I also managed to spot at least three Plain-backed Pipits at the same site.

It’s always very rewarding when you put in the effort and get results. I’ve been here for a week and a half, and my species list already sits at 93. I’ve attached the list.

That is a good list for 10 days! The Tambourine Dove would have been a lifer for me. Familiar experience with the pipits. Sometimes a species has eluded you for a long time and once you’ve seen it, it pops up every time.
