I'm looking for any information anyone might have on good spots in the western Pyrenees for early August. Trip is a family holiday near Biarritz so birding time will be restricted :)mad:). Main target is Lammergeier and, if possible, Wallcreeper. Most sources say the migration spot at the Col d'Organbidexka is the best spot for Lammergeier though most state that birds seen there tend to be distant. Any information on the area would be greatly welcomed.

Regards,

Aonghus.

Definitely worth a trip to Organbi although a fraction early - although is peak migration time for Black Kite which is more numerous at the Col du Soulor - subject to weather, will be passing in the thousands in Early August - also a great place for the local Golden Eagle, Lammy and breeding Short toed plus Booted Eagle, Egyptian vulture etc.

There is always a sniff of wallcreeper but I haven't been to prospect for this years nest,,, which has been very close to the road some years..
