saw these on Iztuzu beach Dalyan South west Turkey today , not sure which sandpiper, poor image from phone I'm afraid . Does seem to have downward bill though. Taking the note below about manipulation, which it was to try and improve image , here's an original from my phone. Dunlin suggested

They look like Dunlin, dark underneath and the bill is quite heavy set.
