Savannah & Swamp Sparrows? (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to get comfortable with identifying sparrows and want to be sure I'm not making mistakes. Are these sparrows a Swamp Sparrow and a Savannah Sparrow? If it is a Savannah Sparrow then what age and form is it? -thanks-Jeen

Hi jeen1965 and welcome to BirdForum.

#1 is a Swamp Sparrow.

#2 is a Song Sparrow. Savannah Sparrow typically has a yellow supercillum, shorter notched tail, pale bill, and has a paler plumage with usually finer streaking than Song (Song Sparrows are overall more reddish-brown with thick streaking).

Thank you for the details. The streaking seemed a little bit finer than what I'm use to seeing with some song sparrow so it had me confused.
