Settings for Tascam DR-05 noc migging + USB power (1 Viewer)

Having experimented with a USB microphone direct in to Audacity I've just taken delivery of a DR-05x & QTX SG300 shotgun. Can anyone help please with basic settings e.g 24 bit WAV, file size, any low frequency cut off etc? Is the QTX best in switch position 1 or 2? Finally can I power the Tascam with a wall plug-in USB (obviously to micro adapter) as used for mobile phones? Thanks Neil
