I photograph birds

Hi, please share your three favorites from 2024, and anything you'd like us to know about the images.
For me:
1. Bald Eagle from Channel Islands National Park, off California's Central Coast. The eagle appeared over a ridge line, and I had a few seconds to fire off a burst. Bald Eagles were painstakingly re-introduced to these Islands after the effects of DDT, so I consider myself very lucky to get this shot.

2. Red-Breasted Sapsucker. I always thought it would be great to catch a woodpecker in a spot of sun that penetrates the canopy of a tree. It's great that I got this with a seasonal visitor from the north.

3. Northern Mockingbird. I love the intelligent and fearless mockingbird. This photo has a fair amount of processing done to it, so the bird looks ready to fly off the screen. The original image had even lighting and lacked a sense of depth.

Looking forward to see your best from this year!
