I'm mostly a photo-artist but I do love watercolour too, though I'm very much a beginner. I recently painted this study of a tauhou (Zosterops lateralis). Would love any hints and tips from those more experienced on how to paint feathers!! So much detail in them.

Nice one Judi. Don't get too hung up on the 'detail' in feathers. You should aim to portray an 'impression' of feather texture, which you have captured pretty well here IMHO. So long as the feather tracts are accurate you'll be OK. Feel free to post more please.

It really is a lovely portrait this one Julie.

Thanks.
